Healthfirst is committed to providing you with the best possible service and to helping you get access to the care you need. That’s why your plan covers non-emergency medical transportation. Non-emergency medical transportation may include taxi, ambulette, and public transportation.
To schedule transportation, please call at least three (3) days before your medical appointment and provide your Medicaid identification number (example: AB12345C). During your call, you can also ask to go over any specific details regarding your mode of transportation.
Transportation covers an attendant if you need someone to accompany you to your doctor’s appointments. If the plan member is a child, transportation is also covered for their parent or guardian.

If you have an emergency and need an ambulance, you must call 911.
LogistiCare and Medical Answering Services provide the covered transportation services under your plan.
