Prominent Medical Experts and Elected Officials Promote Community Wellness in the Bronx
BROOKLYN, NY, July 14, 2017 Healthfirst is proud to sponsor the fourth annual Brooklyn Cyclones Youth Baseball Clinic Series at MCU Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn. The series continues on Sunday, July 16, from 9am to 12pm.
“We are proud to partner with the Brooklyn Cyclones to offer the youth in the New York metro area the opportunity to learn baseball techniques from professional players and coaches while instilling the importance of physical activity,” said George Hulse, Healthfirst’s Vice President of Community Engagement. “Healthfirst is committed to providing resources for our communities to promote healthy activities in a fun and interactive environment.”
Each clinic will offer 100 children ages 7–14 the unique opportunity to meet and interact with Brooklyn Cyclones coaches and active players to learn baseball fundamentals. During the 45-minute-long clinics, attendees will participate in 10-minute drills consisting of fielding, hitting, pitching, and additional baseball tactics, followed by a five-minute cooldown. Clinics are free of charge. Participants are selected from Healthfirst partner community-based organizations in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island.
