New York – Healthfirst, a not-for-profit health benefits company that provides healthcare coverage to residents of the New York City metropolitan area, launches its annual Back-to-School Campaign today. In August, Healthfirst will help students and families prepare for the start of the school year by distributing free school supplies (i.e. pencil case, drawstring bag, notebook, while supplies last) at scheduled back-to-school events in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Long Island. Event attendees can also take advantage of no-cost health screenings offered at each event.
“Healthfirst believes that a good education is important both for children’s health and their ultimate success in life,” says George Hulse, Vice President of Community Engagement. “We hope that new school supplies will get the children excited to head back to the classroom, and we’re proud to cut down on the extra costs families face with the start of the school year.”
