More Provider Options Available to Healthfirst Members
NEW YORK, NY, November 14, 2017 – Healthfirst, a provider-sponsored health plan serving more than 1.2 million members in New York City and on Long Island, is pleased to announce the expansion of its provider network to include Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHS). This ongoing expansion ensures that its members have broad access to affordable, in-network options for care in addition to services currently offered by South Nassau Communities Hospital and John T. Mather Memorial Hospital.
“We welcome Catholic Health Services to our network,” said Thomas Meixner, Healthfirst Senior Vice President, Delivery Systems Engagement. “We are committed to ensuring that our members have access to the best healthcare available in their neighborhood and will further our efforts at creating healthier communities for residents of Nassau and Suffolk counties.”
The addition of CHS to the Healthfirst network offers its members access to an integrated healthcare delivery system with the region’s finest health and human services agencies. CHS includes six hospitals, three skilled nursing facilities (a regional home nursing service, hospice, and a multiservice), and a community-based agency for persons with special needs. Under the sponsorship of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, CHS provides care that extends from the beginning of life to helping people in their final years.
