Healthfirst, Maimonides Medical Center, and Sing Tao Daily News Host Successful Immigration Day Celebration
NEW YORK, NY, June 15, 2016 – On Saturday, June 4, Healthfirst in conjunction with Maimonides Medical Center and Sing Tao Daily News hosted the 7th Annual Immigration Day at P.S. 69 Elementary School in Brooklyn. The event attracted over a thousand attendees. Stephanie Wu, Healthfirst Vice President of Facilitated Enrollment, presented a caregiver educational seminar to an attentive audience. “The crowd was very receptive to this educational opportunity for families and caregivers,” said Ms. Wu.
The 7th Annual Immigration Day offered exciting, family-oriented activities for all ages. The children enjoyed a variety of fun games and prizes while the seniors enthusiastically competed in the dance competition. A total of nine ornately-costumed senior groups from local senior centers wowed the attendees with their brilliant performances.
The attendees received free health screenings and wellness information from various community exhibitors: Manning Pharmacy, Royal Care, Xincon Home Health Care Services, Brooklyn Public Library, the Chinese American Planning Council, Dr. Tang’s Clinic, and New York Life. Maimonides Medical Center also provided blood pressure checkups and vascular, mammography, and colonoscopy screenings.
The event ended on a high note, as the crowd cheered in excitement while the raffle drawing winners were revealed. Healthfirst looks forward to future opportunities to team up with local organizations to recognize and celebrate the contributions of immigrant communities.
