NEW YORK, NY, – Healthfirst and CAMS CAIPA Community Service Fund proudly announce the kick-off of the Jade Star 2015 Annual Karaoke Contest.
This year marks the 9th anniversary of this popular event, which has become an annual celebration among the Asian community. Seniors in the community showcase their singing talents and are the centerpiece of this star-studded evening full of excitement and entertainment.
“We love teaming up with CAMS CAIPA Community Service Fund to present the annual Jade Star Karaoke Contest,” said George Hulse, Healthfirst Vice President of Community Engagement. “We are always amazed at the tremendous talent of the seniors who participate and are pleased to provide residents of the Chinatown community with this special outlet for creative expression.”
The Jade Star 2015 Annual Karaoke Contest features two singing categories: Pop and Classical. The three top winners will receive a grand prize of $600, $400, $300, respectively. Contestants must be age 55 or older and a resident of New York to be eligible to participate.
Registration forms are available at more than 50 locations including community associations, senior centers, pharmacies, hospitals, doctors’ offices, and Healthfirst community sites. Contest registration is open until September 8, followed by the Grand Finale scheduled for October 16 at Jing Fong Restaurant in the Chinatown section of Lower Manhattan. More than 1,000 guests are expected to attend the Grand Finale.
