NEW YORK, NY, August 24, 2016 – Healthfirst and CAMS-CAIPA Community Service Fund proudly announce the kick-off of the 2016 Jade Star Annual Karaoke Contest.
This year marks the 10th year of this popular event, which has become a highly anticipated celebration in the Asian-American community. Each year since 2007, seniors in the community are invited to showcase their singing talents and are the centerpiece of this star-studded evening full of excitement and entertainment.
“We are pleased to be celebrating the 10th Annual Jade Star Annual Karaoke Contest. Every year, we look forward to the tremendous display of talent and enthusiasm of the seniors that participate,” said George Hulse, Healthfirst Vice President of Community Engagement. “We love partnering with CAMS-CAIPA Community Service Fund to offer a creative platform for the residents of Chinatown.”
The three top winners of the Jade Star Annual Karaoke Contest will receive a grand prize of $600, $400, and $300, respectively. Contestants must be age 55 or older and reside in New York to be eligible to participate.
Registration forms are available at more than 50 locations, including: community associations, senior centers, pharmacies, hospitals, doctors’ offices, and Healthfirst community sites. Contest registration is open until August 29. The Grand Finale is scheduled for October 7 at Jing Fong Restaurant in the Chinatown section of Lower Manhattan. More than 1,000 guests are expected to attend the Grand Finale.
