Celebrate the Super Bowl and Good Health

Celebrating the Super Bowl on February 2 is a great way to take stock of our own health and wellness. Looking at some of the amazing players taking the field really makes you appreciate the glory of the human body and how vital it is to keep it strong. I’m not saying we all can be professional athletes, but it’s no secret what we need to do to lead healthier lives and make healthier choices.
Many of us make New Year’s resolutions at this time of year: some folks vow to lose weight, others to exercise more. The resolution I’d like to recommend you make this year is one that will improve your health and one that you can achieve.
Many times we set unrealistic health goals or try to do everything alone. Start small and enlist your friends and family in your resolutions. We can help each other eat more of the foods that sustain good health and less of the unhealthy and fattening comfort foods. We can help one another experience the fitness and weight-loss benefits of regular exercise. And we can make sure we see our doctors for regular checkups—not just when we’re sick or hurt.
